Žitavské Vinice Conquers France

We are very pleased that our wines are receiving praise from various corners of Slovakia. Among others, also from top restaurants and hotels, where Žitavské Vinice wines are presented to foreign guests as the best we have in Slovakia.

This is also why the idea was born to send our wines for evaluation to the prestigious French magazine and wine table Gilbert & Gaillard. The evaluations of the two wine experts (after whom the bedeker is named) and their team are highly respected and are the pride of wineries around the world. They are even often listed together with reviews by Wine Spectator or Robert Parker.

The result obtained by our winery Žitavské Vinice is unprecedented. 7 gold medals across our entire production. We only left out the white dry wines, all produced in the sur lie method, which were still too young at the time of evaluation. The gold medal went to the red dry barricaded wine Dunaj 2011 (sold out within a week of its launch), the naturally sweet wines Pálava, Irsai Oliver, ! "super-straw" Veltlín green and Chardonnay, as well as our specialties - red sweet wines Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

After this year's great successes in Paris and London, and the winning match Slovakia vs. world held at the Kempinski Hotel, it is further proof that the emphasis on vineyards, huge reduction and honest and gentle work with grapes makes sense and that Jozef Teplan and Tomáš Strelinger are walking in the right direction on the way to the goal of producing world-class wines in Slovakia.
