About Žitavské Vinice
Making exceptional wine... That was the main idea when we were founded. Put a piece of your heart into the wine and make it so that its individuality stands out. We are a small winery and in production we combine traditional methods with modern trends in the world. We are not afraid to experiment and try to push the boundaries of what is expected of quality wine. We make all dry white wines using the "sur lie" method for at least 6 months. This gives them a wonderful fullness and elegance, at the same time they acquire a ripening potential that is not typical for dry white wines. We let the red wines mature in barrique barrels and after at least 6 months of aging, we bottle them without filtration. They stand out for their fullness, finesse and high ripening potential.
Sweet wines are the most demanding in terms of production, but they are nevertheless our passion. Each variety reveals its maximum potential in a sweet version and still manages to constantly surprise us. These wines abound in high extractivity, powerful aftertaste and aging potential that can last for decades. All the wines we make are limited editions in the number of only a few hundred bottles, so you don't have to hesitate for a long time about why you should have Žitavské Vinice at home in the archive.

Slovakia is a young country with a short winemaking history focused on quality. That's why we like to compare our wines with the best and participate in the most important world wine competitions. Our results say that we are not far from the top. Even the Internet portal eTrend called Žitavské Vinice "world champions" in efficiency. This is because more than 90% of our wines entered for competitions win a gold or silver medal.

Tastings
Tasting takes place in the pleasant surroundings of a historic house, one of the oldest in Úľany, upon agreement of the date and number of people. The price of the tasting includes only open bottles of wine, small refreshments in the form of cheeses, pastries and mineral water are a matter of course. The standard length of the tasting is in the range of 1.5 to two hours with the number of 8-10 samples. The type of presented wines depends only on your taste, whether we focus on fresh white dry, powerful red, or a wonderfully varied palette of sweet wines. What is important to us is the feeling and unforgettable pleasure with which you will leave us.
