Success at International Wine Challenge London 2013
Žitavské Vinice and our wines once again confirmed their high quality when they won 1 silver, 3 bronze and 2 recommendation medals at one of the strictest competitions in the world, the International Wine Challenge London. We are all the more pleased with this success when we know that silver is awarded for the same point evaluation as gold elsewhere in the world. The most successful was our sweet Irsai Oliver 29 2011, bronze medals were won by both of our barrel straws Veltliner 46 2011 and Chardonnay 41 2011, as well as the dry Devín 2012 made in the Sur Lie style. Recommendation medals were awarded to our dry Dunaj 2011 (we value this award highly, as from our point of view it is still a young and, moreover, red Slovak wine) and the sweet red Rosa 42 2010, a great specialty of our winery, which is very difficult to judge in the context of ordinary sweet wines. It is a Slovak new nobleman and even though the wine is very structured, full and not suitable for quick judging at competitions, we wanted to present Slovakia with this interesting variety. It is definitely worth noting that almost all of the wines we entered scored points again, which indicates the high quality of the entire production. We look forward to tasting these award-winning wines together with you.
