Shiraz Becomes the Highest-Rated Slovak Wine in Vienna

Winery news

We were expecting the results from AWC Vienna 2013 (currently the world's largest wine competition in terms of the number of wines entered) partly with tension, but partly with joy, because the Žitavskyi vineyards have always liked this competition. We were among the best again. 4 gold and 5 silver medals and the highest-scoring Slovak wine. The gold was won by the dry Devín 2012, straw Chardonnay 41 2011 and Bouvier 38 2009 and our iconic red wine Shiraz 2011 barrique, which matured for 2 years in barrique barrels and will then rest in the bottle for another year before going on the market. In addition to great results, we once again experienced a slight disappointment, when only 2.4 points separated us from being included among the three-star wineries. How would we advance as a winery among the world's elite. Keep your fingers crossed for us next time.
